“United Together: Let’s Talk about Mental Health and Wellbeing in the Security Sector”
Join us on the 22nd May 2023, at the Shard in London for this workshop on Mental Health and Wellbeing in the Security Sector.
Over the last decade, mental health and wellbeing has become more prevalent than ever before, not only for the potential to prevent others suffering but also yourself. The Security Industry is no exception.
As a profession it continues to evolve with new ideas, methodologies, and concepts – it does not stand still, but one area the sector has not been so forward thinking in is taking care of ourselves and each other. Working long hours, many in difficult circumstances, lack of work life balance has at long last been recognised with more companies having a wellbeing team or offering free services to employees.
Encouragement to reach out and communicate is at an all-time high. With this in mind The Security Institute, sponsored by Mite have bought together services to talk about the triggers, the signs, symptoms, and the help available.
There will be a Q and A at the end; it’s a safe space to ask questions and to find out information which may benefit yourself, your family, colleagues or that person you walk by…
This event will bring together expert minds regarding mental health, suicide prevention and with first hand experiences of dealing with mental health issues.
Joining us so far for the event, are Vicki Vidler who will be speaking on behalf of the Consortium for the Prevention of Suicide, of which she is Founder of the organisation, and an Institute member, who will be sharing his own journey and experiences with mental health in the Security Sector.
This is an afternoon and evening event, taking place from 4pm, and there will be refreshments for attendees.
This event, bought to you in collaboration between the Security Institute and Mitie, is for Security Institute members and guests. Spaces are limited and on a first come first served basis.
