Come and join us at our premier CPD event for 2021. Building on the success of our last live event in 2019 we have moved to an exciting new venue for 2021 – the Royal Society of Medicine, or also known as 1 Wimpole Street. The Royal Society of Medicine offers a central London location, just off Oxford Street and being fully compliant with the latest government guidelines and have achieved 4 accreditations #HirespaceSaferEvents #GoodToGo #AIMSecure and #World Travel & Tourism Council.
This year is our first ever Hybrid event, meaning that as well as being able to join us in person for the conference, we also have the option to join us from the comfort of your own home. For those of you joining us remotely, we will be bringing the conference to you, with your very own conference pack delivered directly to your door, as well as professional and dynamic streaming of our speakers on the day. Our speakers are still in the pipeline, but we can guarantee a full day line up of industry experts from various backgrounds of security, who will be delivering topical conversation and debate.
The theme of the Security Institute’s Annual Conference 2021 will be ‘Influential Security’
Influence is the conundrum in security. The ability to influence impacts almost every aspect of what a security professional aims to achieve. To deter is to influence. Leadership imparts influence to promote compliance, awareness, actions and reactions. Influencers can convince and coerce, inspire and improve the social circle around them. In security we use a variety of concepts to influence such as Crime prevention through environmental design, psychological campaign such as “see it, say it sorted”. However, our adversaries do the same, to radicalise and inspire violence. To create fear in a population and even using our media and social media to deliver deep fake, epistemic risks that influence populations to follow a path without question.
During this hybrid conference, we will explore aspects of influence that will develop a deeper understanding of how you may improve your influential abilities whilst considering how threat actors may be manipulating us.
