Date: 8th June 2023 Time: 10:30 - 16:15 Location: Victory Services Club, London BOOK HERE About this event... “A Security Institute Careers Fair for Veterans and Serving Service Personnel” Join us on the 8th June 2023, for this Careers Fair for Veterans and Serving Service Personnel. The Security Institute is launching its first Career Fair for Veterans and Serving Service Personnel seeking employment opportunities in the security sector. While the aim is to uphold our obligation associated with the Armed Forces Covenant, we also want to encourage all uniformed services to attend as part of our ED&I mission. The aim of the Careers Fair is to bring together employers who have job opportunities, academia, training providers, and the SIA who collectively will provide attendees with valid information. There will be a portfolio of biographies from those who have successfully transitioned from a former career in the services to highlight the positive and negative attributes of that journey and where they are now; this will be on a loop played on an overhead screen during the day. Several speakers will participate and be on hand for Q & A throughout the Careers Fair. Workshops for those interested in self-employment and dealing with HMRC and marketing. In addition, the opportunity to meet with organisations who support mental health and understand the value of communication. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about The Security Institute, the Register for Chartered Security Professionals (RCSP) and the Victory Services Club. About this event... This is the first of this type of event! Join us on the 11th July for this collaboration between Fellows (FSyI) of the Institute, and Young Members (under 35 year olds) of the Institute to share thought leadership. This event will see two very different membership peer groups come together to share comparisons, ideas and concepts in regards to topics such as professionalisation of the industry, and increasing the career pathways for Young Professionals...As well as much more! This event is a lunch and learn, so join us for a bite to eat, and some fantastic conversation, as we bring together ideas from different perspectives and levels of knowledge. This event is being hosted by the Security Institute, with help from the Security Institute Young Members Group (YMG) Co-chairs, Oliver Lacey and Luuk Niewenhuijze. Members of the Security Institute only - Booking is essential!

Charity

The Security Institute supports a number of charities throughout the year.

The Institute regularly makes contributions and raises money for the Security Benevolant Fund, which provides financial or other practical support for individuals in the Security Community who cannot pay for urgent medical treatment or have fallen on hard times and need help.
