New Guidance on the National Security Act 2023 – Home Office & Security Institute Panel

The UK Home Office has released new guidance on the National Security Act 2023 to assist the security industry in understanding how to protect itself from approaches by state actors or those acting on their behalf.

To explore this guidance in depth, The Security Institute, in collaboration with the Home Office and the Register for Security Engineers and Specialists (RSES), is hosting a panel discussion. This event will provide security professionals with valuable insights and expert advice on the implications of the new guidance.

This session will include an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and gain a thorough understanding of the National Security Act 2023.

  • Edward Bolton, Home Office
    Edward Bolton is a senior civil servant at the Home Office with over ten years of experience in various policy areas. His expertise includes strategy, policy, and operational delivery.
  • Chris Stevens, The Security Institute
    Chris Stevens is a Board Director of The Security Institute and the Supporting Director in the Counter Terrorism and Built Environment Special Interest Groups. With over twenty years of public service experience, he is a highly regarded Specialist Security and Risk Director at an award-winning consultancy.
  • David Cormie, Register of Security Engineers and Specialists
    David Cormie is Director of Resilience, Security and Risk at Arup, assisting clients in mitigating risk and building resilience against both hostile and accidental threats. He serves as Vice Chair of the Register of Security Engineers and Specialists and is a principal member of the Register in areas including blast effects, hostile vehicle mitigation, and security design.
