What are the key responsibilities of the Orsman Road First Line Manager role?

As a Security First Line Manager at Orsman Road you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of the British Museum’s collection, staff and visitors. Leading operational management at the Orsman Road site, you will ensure that the security service is professional and proactive, managing staff in operational duties and developing improvements to the service.

What might a normal day look like?

You will manage the operational running of the security function at the Orsman Road site by patrolling and carrying out required checks, you will undertake operational management responsibilities and staff training. This will involve effective planning and coordinating of resources, making operational decisions and managing emergency situations and team performance, all aimed at providing a safe and secure environment for the Orsman Road staff, visitors and the collection.

The ideal candidate will be a dedicated Security Services professional whose skills and experiences are:

  • Line and operational management
  • Managing safety, security and emergency responsibilities and situations

This role works weekdays office hours (09:00 – 17:15).

With a great landscape in which to establish long-term progression, BakerHIcks are looking for a dynamic and hands on professional to assume this position of authority within the business.

Taking ownership and working on the ground with the team, you will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of Physical, Personnel and Information Security for the business and the production of the Security Plans to set the required security standards necessary within contracts that deal with classified information.

You will work closely with our project teams, clients and suppliers to ensure we deliver in accordance with the Government Functional Standard GovS 007: Security.

Additionally, you will assist the business with ensuring compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (Data Protection Act 2018), advising colleagues on their responsibility as data owners and recommending solutions in line with the regulation and best practice where current practices could be improved.

Your expertise

  • Substantial experience working with Government / MOD in the security field, including comprehensive experience working with HMG information assets in a secure environment

Vertex Professional Services is recruiting a Security Controller who can shape, perform and undertake Security Controller activities in support of our new long term UK MOD & Defence programmes in the UK. The role will involve a range of responsibilities from governance to operational in the areas of facility, personnel and systems security to support the effective delivery of our programmes and ensure compliance with the government and customer security requirements.   

 

Key Tasks:

·            Establish, maintain and provide Security governance and oversight across physical/building, system and people security related aspects

·            Responsibility for maintaining company security policies and procedure documentation

The successful candidate will develop, maintain and monitor local Security policies, systems and procedures to meet legislative, operational and Company Security requirements.
The Role

  • Maintain the site Security Manual (along with the EHS Manager) and CWA15374, Known Consignor, Government related security documentation and certifications.
  • Function as site MOD sponsor and liaise with relevant authorities to maintain site security protocols.
  • Act as site personnel security vetting lead ensuring employees and contractors are screened in accordance with BS7858 / REG 2015-1998 / MOD / customer requirements
  • Manage 3rd party security contract and tender ensuring value to the business
  • Maintain an overview of site information security and associated risks and liaise with internal and external IT providers to ensure adequate site risk mitigation is in place.
  • Liaise with the insurance brokers / internal stakeholders to ensure activities undertaken by 3rd party security are compliant.
  • Ensure that all security incidents are investigated thoroughly, and that action is taken to avoid reoccurrence.
  • To manage the escalation process and ensure effective communication of security breaches to internal and external stakeholders.
  • To assist with setting objectives and accountabilities for the management team in line with site objectives and targets
  • Co-ordinate the site Security audit plans and conduct robust internal audits to ensure compliance with third party certifications, Company and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure effective liaison with external bodies such as the MOD, Insurers, Civil Aviation Authority, local Police / CTSA and other local or national interest groups. To represent the site on Security issues in discussions with enforcing authorities as required.
  • Oversee provision of third-party services for Security Officers, site cleaning and waste management activities including secure spoil movement and destruction.

The Person

  • Previous experience in a similar role working as a Security Manager on an industrial / manufacturing site. Formal Security Management qualification an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications and analytical skills.
  • Experience of maintaining ISO certified management systems or equivalents.
  • Full working knowledge of system compliance culture and behavioural management systems.
  • Proven organisational and influencing skills, with the ability to achieve results whilst managing a broad agenda.
  • Self-disciplined and motivated to work with minimal supervision.
  • Team player, good presentation and training skills
  • Experience of communicating with statutory Enforcement Bodies e.g., MOD, Civil Aviation Authority.

They seek an Information Security Officer Business Continuity to provide Information Security advice with focus managing Business Continuity from a risk and security programme. In this role the post holder will be a point of contact to provide complex advice on Business Continuity and guidance through to resolution, with support from the SME.

The Role

  • Develop, maintain, and test the business continuity programme.
  • Conduct and Lead on investigations, analysis and reviews following breaches of ICT security
  • (or ‘near misses’) and preparing recommendations for security improvements arising from such incidents.
  • Advise on the Maintenance of ISMS security controls across the organization.
  • Design and facilitate tactical level business continuity, disaster recovery and cyber security response exercises.
  • Train colleagues to deliver operational level exercises.
  • Maintain a network of business continuity coordinators throughout the business.
  • Liaise with business continuity coordinators to develop effective working relationships and documented BCP plans.
  • Develop professional relationships with stakeholders and colleagues to share and utilise information, advise and influence managers across the business.
  • Work collaboratively on cross-team/pillar tasks and projects to achieve business objective.
  • Proactively look for way to improve processes and contribute effectively to the business.
  • Responsible for improving own knowledge of specialism.

The Person

  • Previous experience working as an Information Security Officer with substantial experience of risk management, cyber and information security.
  • Training and experience as either a security analyst or network security Officer
  • Practitioner under a scheme like Infosec Training Paths & Competencies (ITPC) scheme
  • Business Continuity qualification e.g., BCI Certification Course.
  • Ability to form complex communications/messages in a simple, clear and concise manner to the various parts of the company.
  • Experience of implementing and managing Business Continuity programmes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and engagement skills; experience of negotiating and managing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Administrator skills and abilities to build, manage and investigate for Windows, and Linux systems (desktop and Servers).
  • Administrator skills and abilities to manage or investigate either iOS or android devices (preferably iOS).
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise own workload with little or no senior support.
  • Knowledge and experience of continuous improvement.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)/(CISM).
  • Member of the Institute of Information Security Professionals (MInst.ISP).
  • Practitioner under the Infosec Training Paths & Competencies (ITPC) scheme.
  • Experience of working with information covered under the UK Government security practices.
  • This role requires SC clearance on appointment.
