  • Review all critical operational incidents to identify any areas for improvement and ‘lessons learnt’ to help improve and develop staff and processes.
  • Develop an Exercise and Compliance Programme to ensure staff are regularly tested and competent to deal with all emergency and risk procedures.
  • Identify, monitor and report on Account KPI’s, identifying areas of opportunity and/or risk, and working with others in the business to develop actions plans to address any areas of underperformance.

Main duties

  • Strategic Contract Oversight
    • To provide strategic oversight and leadership to the contract

  • Site Lead Management & Development:-
    • Regular 1-2-1 meetings conducted with the Site Supervisors to check objectives are being met
    • Annual appraisal completion and review
    • Training & development programme agreed and in place for each member of staff
    • Mentor and coach Site Supervisors to reach their full potential
    • Develop a succession plan to ensure resilience for the site
    • Undertake at least one workshop per annum bringing together all Site Leads to support team working and development
    • Deal effectively with under performance
  • Audit
    • To undertake regular audit of processes and procedures to check that the security team are complying with contract requirements
  • Incident Management
    • To review all critical incidents across the account
    • Identify any ‘lessons learnt’ and share across the portfolio, changing processes and procedures if necessary
    • Ensure that there are training plans in place to test and exercise the security team on all emergency procedures
    • Identify good practice from other London accounts, which may impact on existing procedures
    • Where information exists, support our clients to plan and prepare for known events
  • Monthly and Quarterly Meetings
    • Set all meetings in advance (ideally one year in advance)
    • Ensure all minutes are documented and actions dealt with
    • Circulate all reports at least 3 days in advance of meetings
  • Support Site Leads to deal quickly and effectively with investigations and disciplines, undertaking the disciplines and/or appeals as required.

Person Specification

  • Have a minimum of five year’s site security management experience of a large (20 + members) security team.
  • Hold a current SIA front line license at a minimum of Door Supervisor level
  • Hold a current SIA CCTV licence
  • A Bachelor’s degree, ideally in a security or risk management related subject, or, security related Level 5 award in related field is desirable

STRAP Security Officer

The role

The STRAP Security Officer (STRAPSO) manages the day-to-day support of the delivery of STRAP compliance.  The role requires excellent communication and organisational skills, experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams, and the ability to build positive working relationships with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally, up to Director level.

 The STRAP Security Officer will:

  • Support good information management compliance within the Information Security function
  • Supervise management of risks and issues to ensure delivery of operational and organisational objectives
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to foster collaborative working.

About you

To be successful in this role, the ability to provide assurance of adherence to STRAP principles and to present findings and recommendations to a high standard are a must. This is a crucial and influential role requiring excellent negotiating and analysis skills and the ability to communicate with all key stakeholders at all levels of seniority.  Some of the key skills and experience you’ll bring:  

  • Understanding of the STRAP Supplement and Cabinet Office Security Policy Framework, with proven knowledge of the processes, tools and techniques required.
  • Proven knowledge of risk management skills, tools, techniques, approaches and processes of security risk management.
  • Ability to mitigate the risk of malicious insiders posing a security threat through the deployment of protective monitoring solutions to ensure delivery of operational and organisation objectives.
  • Proven knowledge of IT security policies, standards, and procedures; ability to utilise a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to ensure cyber security compliance.
  • Proven knowledge of and the ability to utilise tools and techniques for assessing the effectiveness of security measures, identifying potential risk exposures, and protecting the availability, confidentiality and audit trails of information from destruction or manipulation.

Vetting Assistant

Duties include

  • Assist the Vetting Manager to maintain and implement all the processes for the security vetting of all staff. Where directed assist in projects/system development for any enhancement/changes to the process. When required undertake vetting interviews to investigate areas of concern (usually associated with criminal traces, indications of financial irresponsibility/vulnerability or adverse traces as advised by the Security Services)
  • Ensure mandatory legal compliance with the use of the Police National Computer (PNC) and Experian database, particularly in respect of the General Data Protection Regulation 2018
  • Assist with the planning, development, and implementation of comprehensive training packages for members of the Vetting Stakeholders Group and personnel responsible for checking identity documents as part of the recruitment process
  • As directed, communicate with internal departments and external agencies to ensure that the vetting processes accord with Cabinet Office guidelines and effect security clearance transfers between Government Departments and Facility Security Clearance Companies as appropriate
  • Together with the Vetting Manager provide support and guidance to all business areas and act as a focal point for all vetting related issues
  • When required provide administrative support for the Department including the co-ordination of vetting interviews, meetings, seminars, minute taking
  • Assist the Security Administrator in updating the NATS Corporate Security Services intranet site with amendments to ensure that the site is up to date, meaningful and usable
  • Where applicable provide holiday cover for the Vetting Manager and Security Administrator
  • Support initiatives and small projects as they evolve

Qualifications/Skills

  • Knowledge of the UK Government vetting process and an understanding of Data Protection legislation

Regional Security Specialists are a part of the security and business resilience team

that manages disruptive events through the ability to anticipate, deter, detect, and act –

the key pillars of Google’s Global Security & Resilience Services.

 

Overall Responsibilities:

 

The Regional Security Specialist is a part of the team at the center of security and

resilience operations and helps to monitor and manage the response to enterprise

threats that could affect Google’s personnel and business activities.

 

● Field phone calls, emails and chat requests using strong customer service skills

while taking actions that support efficient security operations.

● Monitor enterprise alarm monitoring systems, triage service outages, use CCTV

Senior Manager, Investigations Quality Control

Working within a market leading investigations function, for a well-known regulated organisation, the Senior Manager is responsible for the peer review and quality control of investigations, utilising their technical expertise, critical mind-set and professional judgement to ensure robust and high quality case investigations. The Quality Control team is part of the wider Group Investigations team which undertakes independent Speak Up, Conduct and Performance Adjustment investigations relating to Speak Up reports and Divisional Events.

The Investigation team consists of skilled Investigators, who work together to deliver high quality investigations which reach fair and objective outcomes, and are robustly conducted and scrupulously documented to ensure they withstand challenge or complaint.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate peer review and quality control for investigations in line with Group and team culture, documented procedures, by overseeing and applying the appropriate critical thinking, judgement, and technical competence to ensure a robust investigation is conducted.
  • Review the quality of the work produced by Investigators on their cases and ensures a critical mind-set has been applied.
  • Responsible for monitoring quality of triage, case management & investigations, tracking remedial actions, and advising the functional head and other senior leads on thematic quality issues, required process enhancements and areas to improve consistency and capability.
  • Document quality control findings and ensures any thematic findings (both learnings and best practice) are communicated to the investigations team.
  • Check the quality of the case material storage and MI, as well as overall risk hygiene factors.

Security Specialist

We are working with an established manufacturer based in Central Scotland, who are recruiting for a Security Specialist to take ownership of their growing security programme.

They have an international presence, although the bulk of their operations are set across Scotland and you’ll be responsible for the full operational management of the security team, as they provide high-quality, security subject matter expertise and together support the implementation of the security programs across their international business.

Accountabilities include – 

  • Develop and lead the delivery of a corporate security framework, which provides operating principles, policies and processes and security risk management, providing the global business with security advice and best practice advice.

Business Development Manager

We are recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join our ambitious client, a privately owned risk management SaaS platform who are looking to significantly grow their business.

Prospective candidates will have business development experience and be confident in the full sales cycle, from client prospecting, through acquisition and relationship management.

You will be afforded the opportunity to work closely with the company founders and senior management team on delivering their objectives, but be entrusted to show considerable independence, initiative and self-motivation on a day-to-day basis. You will be joining a dynamic and rewarding company whose goal is to deliver excellent user experience to achieve success. Security Team Leader

1. MAIN PURPOSE

The post holder is responsible to the Security Manager, to effectively manage and be a role model to a small team of security officers who will ensure a safe environment for staff, students and visitors. The Team Leader will proactively engage with senior managers and security officers to manage the day to day operational security aspects across University Campuses.

2. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Staff Management

● Effectively manage a small team of security officers acting as a role model at all times.

● To manage performance through conducting the initial investigation meetings Under the probation, capability, disciplinary and absence policy.

● Retain and motivate the team using appropriate recognition, development and Providing handovers to other teams at the end of shifts.

● Ensuring that your team adheres to health and safety procedures.

● Provide regular briefings to staff particularly around any key changes or events.

● Provide training to staff and ensure that the team have completed the training Plan requirements. ● Identify and challenge inappropriate behaviour.

● Ensure staff are fully current with their regulatory licensing and accreditations (e.g. Security Industry Authority, CCTV, First Aid at Work, Mental Health, Driving of University vehicles). Fire Warden Duties. ● Identify individual staff development issues and escalate as appropriate.

● Supervise staff engaged on critical operational incidents, instigating elevation Protocols where necessary and holding ‘hot debriefs’.

● Identify any issues with other staff from other BSU departments who may require Support or advice.

Incident Management 

● Managing and dealing with critical incidents, including the administering of Medical first aid. This also includes incidents related to welfare and mental health.

● To maintain clear accurate notes during incidents and then write incident reports which may be used as evidence by the Police and in a Court of Law.

● Preserve any potential evidence for use by external agencies using the correct procedures, legislation and policies.

● The supervision of incidents occurring on and off Campus within your areas of responsibility, ensuring compliance of University Regulations and an awareness of implications for outside agencies. Ensure that all incidents and events are accurately recorded on the Incident Reporting system.

● Identify incidents that may have an impact on the reputation of the University or adversely affect the University community and communicate without delay those concerns to senior Management, via adopted protocols.

● Support the emergency services with any urgent issues relating to the University, staff or students.

● Ensure all operational equipment is maintained to the required standard for 24/7

● use during incidents.

● Signpost staff to additional support services.

General Security

● To effectively communicate verbally with: – customers in often distressing or volatile situations – other security staff using the internal radio system – emergency services when required

● Be a first point of contact when other University services are unavailable.

● Ensure security staff act in an appropriate and professional manner when dealing with customers.

● Deal with urgent issues raised by concerned parents or carers of students.

● Supervision of asset security, patrolling, locking and unlocking of all campus and off campus buildings as required.

● Supervise the escorting of cash transfers, cash collection and assisting in cash counting as directed.

● Supervising the adherence and enforcement of car parking rules.

● Respond to fire and intruder alarms

● Issuing keys.

● Ensuring University staff have appropriate access to areas, relevant to their job role.

You will from time to time be required to undertake other duties of a similar nature as reasonably required by your line manager. You are required to follow all University policies and procedures at all times and take account of University guidance. You will be required to update and maintain your relevant training as required.

b. The role is based on a rotational shift pattern covering 365 days per year over 24 hours per day working 12 hour shifts.
