Employment type: The role will initially be offered on a 12 month fixed-term contract basis, but it is anticipated to become permanent once the project reaches Final Investment Decision

Nature and Scope The Opportunity
Our exciting Sizewell C (SZC) project – a proposed new nuclear power station to be built on the Suffolk coast – would provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years which, along with renewables, will support Britain’s Net Zero aim by 2050.
As Security Infrastructure Project Lead, you’ll be responsible for the development of security operational requirements and subsequent delivery of security infrastructure projects and systems integration across the SZC nuclear licensed construction site and wider construction estate, which will service a construction workforce of 200 increasing to circa 5,600 over the project lifecycle. In particular, you’ll lead the ongoing delivery management and system integration of all site based technical security infrastructure, which includes: Automated Access Control Systems (AACS), Perimeter Intruder Detection Alarm Systems (PID’s) and CCTV systems.
Principal Accountabilities The Role
You’ll be providing technical input and advice for your scope of work – and will be involved in all stages of the procurement, planning, implementation, operation and maintenance of your key contract area. You’ll also be responsible for developing, reviewing and amending policies and procedures that underpin strategy within the work area and may also be called upon to help prepare detailed specifications, in support of the procurement process. Specifically, you’ll be accountable for: The management and assurance of primary technical security systems, including, Electronic Access Control Systems, CCTV and perimeter/intruder alarm systems Capturing the integrated systems effect required from in service technical security infrastructure in order to support effective and efficient security operations Understanding the key dependencies with Site Operations infrastructure services and developing and integrating security requirements Managing the Security Infrastructure Provider (SIP) contract, valued at circa £30m, supporting the development of requirements ensuring service delivery meets or exceeds the expectations and project work schedule
Interfacing with the contracted SIP in order to deliver an integrated technical security systems response to a security event
Provide support to the development of the requirements of the Security Infrastructure Provider (SIP) contract
Managing the day to day security system integration of critical site security systems
Integrate with Facilities management infrastructure Emergency Preparedness (EP) requirements such as fire systems to ensure best value for money and performance for SZC Project
Ensuring all statutory, regulatory and site controls are complied with
Form effective relationships with their service contract partner and embed security culture as part of Project culture
Ensuring the contract partners team are fully competent to perform their assigned roles
Early interventions to avoid any escalation of issues affecting service delivery
Support delivery of the Security Management Review process to deliver risk-proportionate and cost-efficient framework for identification of security infrastructure requirements and asset lifecycle management
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience The Skills To be successful in this role you’ll be able to demonstrate:
Recent and In-depth experience in integrating electronic systems (this could include networks, fire, security, BMS)
Recent and In-depth experience knowledge of electrical systems integration (cause and effect)
Windows/PC literate Experience of working in a security environment Experience of cost management for Projects
Willingness to learn from both successes and failures Excellent communication skills and able to strike up effective working relationships
Have experience in prioritising work packages in a dynamic work environment
Be able to make timely decisions within empowered boundaries
Be able to prioritise
Project requirements, resources and track projects through to completion
Familiarity with electronic Access Control systems
Currently holding or be able to achieve NSV SC
Desirable:
Degree level or equivalent qualification in a related subject
A security qualification such as CSMP, PSP or other level 5 security management qualification
Ability to conduct assurance of Contractors work to ensure quality requirements and expectations are met
Recognised and certificated ‘Behavioural Safety’ Programme
Recent IOSH accreditation [or equivalent]
Experience in project management
