Reporting to Director Crisis Prevention, the Associate is the core delivery and project management role within the Crisis Prevention service line.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consultancy
  • Carry out on-the-ground risk assessments, security reviews and audits in line with S-RM’s security risk assessment methodology;
  • Produce desktop risk assessments and security reviews;
  • Prepare detailed reports and briefings for clients;
  • Assist with specialist risk and crisis management consultancy on complex issues impacting client’s people, assets and reputation; 
  • Assist with the design project security policies and plans;
  • Deliver client-facing crisis prevention training and workshops.
  • Project Management
  •  Support senior members of the Crisis Prevention team with the day to day management and delivery of crisis management projects for clients;
  • Be the operational point of contact in a client facing role;
  • Manage the delivery of visit support projects globally;
  • Respond to short term ad hoc project management requests from senior members of the crisis management team;
  • Edit reports and planning products, ensuring the quality of all deliverables meet S-RM standards;
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of global security issues and their commercial implications, in order to offer advice to clients at short notice;
  • Select, review, deploy and manage subcontractors and suppliers;
  • Manage intelligence sources and feeds;
  • Ensure internal project management tools and mechanisms are accurate and up to date;
  • Working with S-RM’s marketing department, develop relevant and high-quality sales tools to support business growth.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

The qualifications and experience required to perform this role successfully are:

  • A base knowledge of corporate security, crisis and quality management standards and procedures;
  • A minimum of 4 years corporate experience in a client facing, service delivery role in a corporate environment is essential. Ideally in a consulting capacity.
  • Demonstrable experience conducting the following (required):
  • Security risk assessments of commercial operations in high risk jurisdictions;
  • Security reviews and gap analysis of industrial sites, auditing against international standards and best practice;
  • Country/market entry reports assessing potential operational risks to new business ventures;
  • The writing of detailed policy, plans and procedures for complex, multi asset commercial operations;
  • The management of commercial operations spanning multiple legal and national jurisdictions;  
  • Demonstrable experience working in, or providing consultancy services to, at least one of the following sectors (required):
  • Maritime and shipping;
  • Oil and gas (on and offshore);
  • Heavy Industry (mining, construction etc)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the MENA geopolitical environment (required);
  • At least undergraduate degree level education or equivalent;
  • Excellent command of the English language;
  • Excellent written and editorial skills;
  • Excellent presentation skills and demonstrable ability to brief at a high level;

You will have relevant administrative experience and excellent organisational skills and you must be able to demonstrate that you can work accurately and within relevant policies and procedures. You will also have the ability to plan, prioritise, organise your own workload and work to deadline. You will work well under pressure and communicate effectively and professionally with a range of stakeholders across the organisation. The duties shall include, but not be limited to:

General Office Admin

  • Answering all incoming calls with a polite and professional telephone manner.
  • Deal with all membership enquiries either by email or telephone in a prompt and efficient manner.
  • Ensure both the incoming and outgoing post is dealt with the same day.
  • Greet all visitors in a friendly and polite manner.
  • Ensure the office is kept fully equipped with stationery and office essentials.
  • To provide support with the daily back up procedure as and when required.
  • Monitor and manage multiple email accounts and deal with promptly.

Health and Safety Support/Legal Obligations

  • To carry out weekly Fire Alarm Tests and record.
  • To carry out monthly First Aid Box inspections and record.
  • Monitor all data in accordance with GDPR.

Finance Support

  • Raise invoices, purchase orders and track payments.
  • Support the book-keeper twice weekly.
  • Set up and monitor direct debit plans for membership renewals.
  • Prepare financial reports for the Membership Manager.
  • Issue receipts for monies received via BACS, Credit Card and Cheque.
  • Reconcile PayPal and BACS payments.
  • Process membership payments via phone, adding to online terminal and input using SAGE.
  • Record and process cheques.
  • Accurately record all transactions onto the receipt’s analysis spreadsheet and the website.
  • Chase outstanding payments in respect of membership related fees.
  • To prepare regular payment reminders to the membership and issue notice of cancellation of membership letters when required.

Membership Support

  • Monitor and manage membership queries in a prompt and efficient manner.
  • Ensure all member profile updates are accurately and promptly dealt with via the website, database and using communication tools such as Constant Contact.
  • Ensure all Membership records are accurate at all times.
  • Process members as Leavers, trying to ascertain reason for leaving where not provided, deleting records off internal systems and social media, updating leavers database, all in compliance with GDPR.
  • To prepare welcome packs for new student members and set up website access.
  • To prepare welcome packs for new Corporate Partnership members and set up website access.
  • To send Retired Membership Applications, when required, working closely with Membership Manager to ensure records are kept up to date.
  • To learn the membership admittance process in order to provide cover or support to the Membership Manager when required.

Events

  • To attend events on behalf of the Security Institute.
  • To assist with providing admin support for all events.

Marketing & Communications

  • To use all methods of social media to send regular updates to the membership.
  • To proof-read all communications when required.

What are we looking for in a successful candidate?

Security Adviser, UK Space Agency

Working closely with the security colleagues and UK Intelligence Community, you will understand the key threats to the UK Space Agency and use this information to assess the risks to the Agency’s business. You will support senior security colleagues to determine how to manage security risks affecting all business areas. Building a network of security contacts across the organisation and working closely with and advising staff across the Agency to ensure their security needs are met.

Role Summary

To support the Head of Security in the maintenance & development of robust security, business continuity and safety strategies for the Legacy Corporation.

This is a key role in creating a high-quality park, incorporating world class venues, new developments and events at its heart, with a focus on arrangements across the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, including interaction with venues; events; new developments and Stakeholders.  There will also be a requirement to deputise for the Head of Security and Safety.

Our engineering ops team regularly visits client premises to carry out detailed technical and physical searches in order to detect and locate illicit eavesdropping devices.  It is interesting and rewarding work.

We are looking for someone with engineering skills and experience, in particular with RF and communications systems.  However, prior experience of delivering technical security installations, testing, searches/surveys is desirable.  For example, candidates may have worked on access control systems, radio communications systems, alarm systems, CCTV, perimeter intruder detection systems or similar.  Practical skills are important, as is an enquiring mind and the ability to work flexibly.
