That is why the work at the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) is so critical as the non-government body that regulates the provision of immigration advice and services, ensuring they meet stringent professional standards.

We are looking an organised and proactive individual with excellent communication skills to play to play a crucial role in supporting our regional teams to achieve their objectives. Working to the Intelligence Team Manager, as Senior Intelligence Officer you will step into a dynamic environment where every day presents new challenges and opportunities. You will play a pivotal role in utilising intelligence to assist some of the the UK’s most vulnerable individuals – those seeking immigration advice. Your insights will not only enhance an informed and compassionate decision making process bit will also assist in shaping a fair an effective intelligence framework for the organisation. Job description
- Key responsibilities
We are seeking a forward-thinking Senior Intelligence Officer to shape the future of our modern and effective intelligence services, delivering high-level intelligence products. Their key responsibilities will be to:
- Provide in-depth analysis of emerging threats, suggesting areas for further investigation.
- Produce an intelligence product in line with national standards.
- Ensure proper triage and risk assessment of received information, pinpointing priority cases.
- Take forward the research and development of intelligence, discerning patterns and proposing follow-up actions.
- Inform strategic decision-making through comprehensive threat analysis.
- Assist in the formulation of the yearly Forward Intelligence Plan, enhancing enforcement and engagement approaches.
- Define intelligence needs, recognise knowledge gaps, and strategise data collection from diverse sources.
- Collaborate closely with regional/national teams, ensuring intelligence requirements are fulfilled.
- Foster robust partnerships for efficient intelligence exchange and team collaboration.

Person specification
Essential criteria:
- Experience of working within an intelligence management environment with a law enforcement and/or regulatory focus.
- Knowledge and experience in the application and use of Intelligence Risk Assessment techniques.
- Experience in the management and handling of intelligence material from sensitive and/confidential sources.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A good level of organisational skills and the ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to prioritise and work on own initiative or as part of a team.
- Display a sound understanding of relevant legislation e.g., GDPR, DPA.
Desirable criteria:
- A working knowledge of the National Intelligence Model.
- A working knowledge of IBM i2 Ibase and Notebook Analyst.

Location:
- OISC now has no permanent offices. All staff are based at their home address with regular face to face meetings of teams and the whole organisation monthly, at appropriate venues;
- The jobholder will be based at their home address which must be within the United Kingdom.
- Occasional Travel across the United Kingdom to attend in person team and office meetings will be required.
