Job summary

CREST (Compliance and Risk Engineering Solutions Team) sits within Risk and Intelligence Service, and we play a responsible role in projects and programmes which transform our approach to data processing, and its use in risk services. We will provide the opportunity for you to hit the ground running with data engineering, data processing, data models, data profiling, deep investigations and unlock new data assets. The Senior Data Engineer will work closely with wider technical delivery partners to deliver Investigation, Detection & Risking System (IDRS) as a live service. You will support the delivery of the service into live and to continue to expand and develop capability post go live.

The role will initially focus on the continuation of designing, building, testing and promoting to environments of new data products, to ensure elements for which RIS are responsible, are delivered to time, cost, accuracy and quality. CREST is responsible for the configuration of the vital components of IDRS, and we will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing these components, actioning service level requests from our end-users, maintaining and resolving incidents as they occur.

  • Design, build, test, promote and maintain complex data management systems, making sure they meet business requirements and user needs.

Senior Manager – CSERB-DRB (Child Sexual Exploitation Referrals Bureau – Designated Reporting Body)

The CSERB is a critical national function supporting the Agency’s fight against online Child Sexual Abuse (CSA). Acting as the gateway for online CSA reporting, referrals are  received from well-known electronic service providers (ESPs) such as TikTok, Facebook, Dropbox and YouTube via the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).


The CSERB has been designated the UK reporting body under the new Online Safety Bill. CSERB will receive online CSA reports from UK companies. This new capability will be integrated with current operations to enhance the Agency’s response to tackling online CSA and coordinating UK law enforcement’s response to safeguarding victims and pursuing offenders.  The CSERB/Designated Reporting Body has been identified as a critical deliverable by the NCA Board.

Job description

As a proactive intelligence function the CSERB assesses online CSA reports to determine offences committed, identify risk factors and pursue serious child sex offenders. The CSERB works closely with the NTC, Tasking and CEOP Investigations to identify high harm targets that require an Agency response. Acting as the UK’s central coordination of NCMEC reports the CSERB also works closely with Forces to help protect children from sexual abuse and bring child sex offenders to account.
