As an important part of the Ministry of Defence, Defence Intelligence (DI) provides intelligence analysis, specialist outputs and advice that supports decision making across government. At the heart of DI is the National Centre for Geospatial Intelligence (NCGI).
 
Everything happens somewhere. NCGI produces intelligence that is referenced in time and space to help decision makers to understand, plan, navigate, and target; to understand what is going on.
 
We are the primary provider of geospatial intelligence advice and expertise, comprising imagery intelligence, geospatial analysis, geospatial services, foundation data, military mapping and, in partnership with the UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO) and the Meteorological Office, assured data for safety of navigation. We are a national capability, recognisably operating alongside other national intelligence agencies and is the primary interface between the UK and international geospatial intelligence partners.

The Operational Intelligence Units (OIUs) are part of Home Office Intelligence. OIUs include operational and non-operational staff who develop intelligence products to protect vulnerable people and communities while reducing the illegal population and the harm that it causes.

The role of intelligence is continuing to develop within the Home Office as we aim to professionalise roles through staff training and qualifications. The successful candidate will work towards an Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) accreditation within the first year in post. Job description

This role is being advertised to help further develop the Department’s capabilities in trade sanctions enforcement.

You will work closely with teams across the department including Analysis, Legal, Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU), Global Supply Chains, Export and Investment, Global Trade and Delivery as well as with multiple government departments including Foreign Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO), Department for Transport  (DfT), Cabinet Office, His Majesty’s Treasury (HMT), His Majesty’s revenue and Customs (HMRC), and the Office for Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI).

Initial priorities for this role will focus on developing knowledge on trade and sanctions, and engagement with businesses across multiple sectors. You will need to quickly build your knowledge on trade sanctions, working closely Cross-Whitehall to coordinate and enhance how we detect and prevent sanctions breaches.

You will lead and contribute to compliance and enforcement casework in relation trade services sanctions breaches. You will plan how to investigate cases, gather evidence (including through engaging with all parties involved in a breach of sanctions and conducting open-source research) and working with lawyers and other interested partners to determine the most appropriate compliance outcomes.

You will become a subject matter expert, help develop new intelligence and information flows for the team, and own and deliver projects that assist in developing the team’s capability to enable it to support compliance and enforcement objectives.

They will actively develop relationships and be responsible for the identification and development of new workstreams and sources of intelligence.

Training

The role of intelligence is continuing to develop within the Home Office as we aim to professionalise roles through staff training and qualifications. As these are warranted roles with the powers of arrest, it is an essential requirement to complete the requisite training and the roles are conditional on passing a mandatory training programme, which will include a health fitness assessment, Enforcement training (4-week course) and Arrest training (2-week course). Other additional training focusing on the intelligence aspect of the role will also be provided.

There is an exciting opportunity to join the Detention Services Security Team (DSST) and work on a new side of the business to develop and imbed a new intelligence process that will be used throughout the detention estate in the UK.

This is a specialist day-to-day management role within Intelligence, with a sole focus on analysing information and intelligence sources. The job holder will provide administrative support to the DS Security Team and wider DS colleagues. They will assist the Head of Security in the delivery of an effective risk management system, ensuring an intelligence provision is effectively used and bolsters existing processes.

They will be responsible for maintaining DS’ access to intelligence systems, acting as a single point of contact for all DS (including service providers) and HMPPS enquiries. Additionally, the job holder will be required to process formal requests for intelligence within specified timeframes.

This is an operational job with on call provision. Line management responsibilities are attached to this role.

Due to the nature of this role, it is only available on a full-time working pattern.

HMNB Clyde (Faslane)

Job summary

His Majesty’s Naval Base Clyde (HMNB Clyde) is home to the United Kingdom’s Strategic Nuclear Deterrent, Astute Class Attack Submarines, Sandown Class Mine Hunter Vessels and 43 Cdo Royal Marines. It is an operational support and maintenance base, within the Navy Command TLB and comprises both Faslane and Coulport sites. HMNB Clyde’s primary purpose is to provide engineering and logistical support to the Royal Navy in maintaining Continuous at Sea Deterrent (CASD). This is achieved by ensuring at least one Vanguard Class submarine is on patrol at sea every day of the year.

RNAD Coulport is responsible for the storage, processing, maintenance and issue of the Trident Weapon System and the ammunitioning of all submarine-embarked tactical weapons.

This role is a senior position within the HMNB Clyde Security Organisation (CSyO), with responsibility for coordinating and cohering all aspects of Security Assurance across Faslane and Coulport. Level 1 Security Assurance

Leading a small team, the successful candidate will be the lead officer for all Level 1 (Internal) Assurance activities within HMNB Clyde, ensuring all Naval Base Commander (NBC) Clyde Directorates, HMNB Clyde based Naval Units, Site Security Forces and Industry Partners are compliant with local Clyde Security Policy, MOD standards and guidance (predominantly JSP440 and Supplements) and HMG best practice.

Level 2 Security Assurance

Regulatory Interface
