The JICC is the focal point for all International enquiries both into and out of the UK with International policing partners via the channels of INTERPOL and Europol. In addition, the JICC is the UK Central Authority for the UK Trade and Co-operation Agreement (TACA) focusing on locating fugitives in the UK and abroad for extradition. The JICC work closely with the NCA International ILO network and law enforcement across the UK.

Job description

The ARK Security Officer is part of the Defence Digital MOD Corsham Security Team, with 20% of the role supporting a cryptographic (crypto) project and 80% of the role supporting security for multiple projects in a Crown Hosting Environment. This includes the physical, personnel, information and asset security.

This position will report to the ARK Security Manager and assist in managing the security for multiple projects, requiring the individual to understand several customer contracts and be able to differentiate between them, ensuring they adhere to MOD policy and protocol.

You will work closely with a multitude of business areas within Defence Digital, including Crown Hosting and civilian, military and contractor personnel, as well as the Ministry of Defence Police and the Ministry of Defence Guard Service.

For this role, the successful candidate will be required to undertake the following training:

  • CSD (UKNDA) 2-day crypto course.
  • STRAPSO course must be attended in the first 12 weeks of taking up the post, if not already completed. These courses are 5 days residential in Bedfordshire.
  • The Information and Technology Security Officers course must be completed within the first 6 months of taking up the post, if not already completed. This is a 5-day residential course in Bedfordshire.

The ARK Security Officer will report to the ARK Security Manager and support the following activities:

  • As the project Crypto officer, you will be responsible for supporting the process for checking, holding, receiving and issuing cryptographic material to all individuals who have a requirement to use crypto for the project.
  • Management of site access lists (a security access control process) for various contracts – including inductions, clearance checking and maintenance of the access lists.
  • Supporting investigation and remedial action / mitigation for all security incidents within all MOD areas of the Crown Hosting Site. Assisting in the destruction of IT assets / Cryptographic material in accordance with current MOD policy and procedures.
  • Supporting the ARK Security Manager as a Deputy STRAPSO – ensuring all staff who have access to this classified information and assets are cleared to do so and the buildings / offices used comply with all mandatory policy requirements.
  • Assisting with security inspections and audits for security services we deliver, to include Secret assets / registers and supporting external security risk audits.
  • Assisting implementation of security policy against mandated policy, or new policy, that is required to ensure the continued security and safety of the sites and personnel in your area of responsibility.
  • Providing advice and guidance to all Defence Digital personnel, including very senior staff and be able to provide briefings, sometimes of a very complex nature, verbally and in writing.

The Security Services Group (SSG) provides specialist electronic and physical security advice, compliance. assurance and services to areas of the public sector that require the highest levels of security protection. SSG is the Government’s provider of expert design, installation and maintenance of the highest accredited security systems using both “in-house produced products and those commercially produced and approved for use on the government estate.
Comprising of around 230 civil servants and based at locations throughout the UK and Overseas, SSG’s services are provided to the most sensitive Defence and Government sites.

The role of an SSG field technician offers the successful applicant the chance to work on a variety of technically advanced projects protecting some of the nation’s most important assets.
 
The position advertised will provide support in relation to the installation and maintenance of security systems, whilst ensuring that a professional, efficient, and cost-effective service is delivered to customers. 
 
Successful applicants will be tasked from home, predominantly working on SSG customers sites throughout the Eastern Region.

You will be provided with a company vehicle and have the choice of a car with private use which will be eligible for taxable benefit, or a van for business use only.  You will be included on the roster for ‘out of hours’ calls for which you will receive a call out allowance (including recall to duty allowance when called out), opportunities for overtime, detached duty visits (overnight stays) and travelling time depending on business needs.

DI is part of the Ministry of Defence and provides intelligence analysis, specialist outputs and advice which supports decision-making across all levels of Defence and government. DI is the MoD’s central provider of strategic level intelligence. Job description

You will work within the Critical National Infrastructure team, a multi-discipline, joint civilian-military, cross-site team split across MoD Main Building in London and RAF Wyton in Cambridgeshire. This specialist and unique team comprises of all-source, imagery and geospatial analysts supported by embedded infrastructure and engineering experts.

The team plays a unique role within the UK intelligence community, focusing on the analysis of civilian and dual use critical national infrastructure, including utilities, transport and communications of foreign countries in support of UK operational requirements including humanitarian relief and non-combatant evacuation operations.  Most recently the team have been providing specialist insights into the unfolding events in Ukraine, many of which have reached the top decision-makers within UK Government and wider Defence.

The team also plays a critical and unique role in providing assessments to support other analytical teams covering economic, political and security issues, as well as decision makers in the MoD and across Whitehall.  The team also acts as the lead for DI in drawing together assessments on the impacts of climate change.

All source analyst roles within the CNI team cover a wider variety of topics from electric power, water and oil & gas, to understanding multi-nodal transportation networks within regions of concern.  The roles will undertake in-depth and specialist analysis to understand the implications of climate change on critical infrastructure and the impact of new energy technologies and decarbonisation.

You will also have an opportunity to assist in the development of capabilities for the analysis of Human Security, including food insecurity, by proactively engaging with wider government and Allies, enabling DI to better understand and articulate the threat vectors to decision-makers.

As a Defence Debriefer you will manage your own workload in support of wider DDP objectives. You will be responsible for planning and preparing operational activity, to include accommodation, travel and linguistic support in order to effectively conduct strategic debriefs of HUMINT sources against Defence Intelligence requirements. DDP debriefers are also required to support broader DDP and DI HUMINT activities as required.

The Cyber Critical Systems Lead position sits within the Cyber Risk Management team, a small, highly specialised team within the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) directorate in Defence Digital.
