The Role:

Leidos are looking for an experienced Security Vetting Administrator with excellent attention to detail to join the Security Service Centre Team.

An understanding of security clearances would be desirable as background screening and security clearances plays a big part in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the security helpdesk inbox and phone on a rota basis between 9am and 5pm Mon-Fri to provide timely 1st line security support, escalating queries that require specialist security support to the Security Service Centre Lead
  • Provide recruitment advice to Human Resources and hiring managers regarding security related issues such as clearance eligibility, immigration status and right to work legislation
  • Process pre-employment screening checks against the Cabinet Office Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)
  • Process applications for National Security Vetting
  • Monitor employees’ Security and Immigration status, ensuring validity and facilitating renewals
  • Perform vetting after care responsibilities such as supporting the completion of Change of Personal Circumstance, Annual Security Appraisal Forms and Aftercare Incident Reports
  • Support visitor management processes for incoming and outgoing visits, including international visits
  • Operate centralised security systems:
    • Automated Access Control Systems (AACS)
    • Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV)
    • Security databases
  • Produce and issue company badging
  • Apply for and track Security passes Customer and other 3rd party establishments
  • Support the Security Induction Process and other security education and awareness initiatives
  • Deliver travel briefs for international travellers
  • Process leavers from the business in line with security processes
  • Maintain accurate security records within SharePoint

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support and assurance to projects throughout the UK portfolio, ensuring that contractual security requirements are correctly interpreted and implemented.

The Lightning Force (LF) defends its most sensitive information meticulously. It mandates that all classified information be appropriately safeguarded to assure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of that information. The emergence of threats and risks often outpace our ability to implant robust, countermeasures. Given the rapid increase of these cybersecurity threats the ISSO team have been formed to implement a continuous monitoring strategy to ensure an appropriate operational security posture is maintained for mission information and information systems. and as such, will work for the Information System Security Manager (ISSM).

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

The ISSO team are responsible to the Information System Security Manager, for the following:

a) Complying with extant workplace Risk Assessments

b) Providing a comprehensive, holistic approach to continually monitoring the security posture relating to Information, Information systems and operations.

c) Produce and publish the Information Assurance (IA) Standard Operating Procedure.

d) Assist the ISSM in meeting their duties and responsibilities.

e) Conduct Continuous monitoring of information systems to ensure compliance with the security authorisation package;

f) Serve as member of the Security Working Group (SWG), if designated by the ISSM;

g) Formally notify the ISSM when changes occur that might affect system authorisation;

h) Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorised individuals; and

i) Ensure audit records are collected, reviewed, and documented (to include any anomalies).

j) Attend required technical and security training (e.g., operating system, networking, security management) relative to assigned duties;

k) Maintain required IA certifications;

l) Coordinate any changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware of a system with the ISSM and AO/DAO prior to the change;

m) Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly;

Your main day to day responsibilities will be:

  • The support, planning, development, implementation and management of organisation-wide processes and procedures for the management of risks to the success, confidentiality, integrity and availability of the business, especially those arising from the use of information technology, hardware or data. Head of Intelligence Analysis

The Intelligence Division obtains and manages intelligence related to allegations of serious fraud, bribery and corruption.  Intelligence gathering is at the heart of SFO operational activity and the Intelligence Division uses various tools to secure actionable intelligence in order to drive our investigations in the fight against economic crime.

As Head of Intelligence Analysis you will manage ten Senior Intelligence Analysts who work across strategic, operational, investigative and proactive roles within the SFO. The role will include contributing to the SFO’s strategic, tactical planning and engagement, both internally, and across HMG.

Key responsibilities include leading the Serious Fraud Office’s Control Strategy, which requires collaboration with internal SFO stakeholders to develop our plan for identifying emerging threats relevant to economic crime. Job description

The Team

Cyber Security Technical Services (CSTS) is part of the HMRC Security area of Chief Digital and Information Office (CDIO).  The team is responsible for delivering a holistic set of technical security services to HMRC projects and programmes.

CSTS comprises a range of cyber professionals, with a breadth of skills across security architecture, risk, assurance and enterprise architecture.  We have an Operations Management Team (OMT) that provides an efficient customer-facing engagement and workflow process, providing resources and capability to high profile projects and programmes.

The Role

You will be working in a modern, digital organisation, leading the activity of the Cyber Security Technical Services’ Operations Management Team (OMT).  Our team is dedicated to delivering an exemplar service to its customers, working collaboratively and being innovative and creative in its approach to new processes and business demands. Working with key stakeholders at all levels, and within a professional team, ensure delivery of a highly efficient security customer-facing engagement and workflow process, providing technical cyber security resources and capability to high profile projects and programmes. You will get to work closely with the CSTS technical security professionals, directing their tasks and managing their workflow and also support the delivery of our KPIs, our business plan, communications strategy, capability building and performance reporting.  You will enjoy working in a creative, engaging and fast-paced team, and be able to deliver with impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of key deliverables, including working with technical and operational colleagues to create, maintain and deliver effective processes and business delivery.
  • Foster and maintain a “one team” ethos by driving flexible working across teams to support service delivery
  • Lead on a range of Operations Management Team activity, including the delivery of an effective workflow function, a front-door system for customers requiring cyber technical services, performance reporting, communication and resource & financial management
  • Lead on allocation of technical resources to high profile projects and programmes, directing their work allocation and ways of working
  • Lead on customer engagement and education and guidance
  • Develop and manage strong networks and relationships with key stakeholders, at all levels, both within CSTS and externally across HMRC and external third parties
  • Managing and motivate a team of direct reports, reviewing their performance and developing their skillsets.

Person specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience of working in a fast-paced customer-facing delivery team.
  • Strong understanding of workflow processes, preferably with experience in an automated workflow system such as JIRA or Clarity, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of Office 365 applications and their associated automations and links.
  • Strong communication skills – the candidate will be expected to lead calls and direct colleagues at all levels, liaise with project managers and wider HMRC colleagues.

  • Annual Leave:

    From 1 September 2021 (when annual leave changes agreed as part of HMRC’s reform deal are introduced), full-time employees have a starting paid annual leave allowance of 25 days per year, pro rata, which will increase by one day for each year’s qualifying service up to a maximum of 30 days.

    If you’re transferring over from an Other Government Department (OGD), we will take account of your previous qualifying service, provided there is no break in your service between you working for your previous department and taking up service with HMRC.

    If you’re transferring over from a recognised Non-Departmental Public Body (NDPB), you will have your previous qualifying service recognised from 1 March 2011, provided it is continuous with your service with HMRC.

Team members that are moving offices as a result of the Locations Programme will be entitled to a Moves Adjustment Payment for three years where they incur additional costs. This is calculated based on the difference between the costs of travelling to and from the new and old office, over a weekly period.
