A protective security trailblazer group have been working on a Protective Security Apprenticeship (PSA), for both government and industry. The apprenticeship will be open to all, who would like to enter into the security job force. The PSA covers cyber, personal, physical, and technical security, more details can be found here.
Our CEO, Prof. Simon Hepburn, who chairs the implementation group, commented, ‘I am pleased to be part of the trailblazer group representing the Security Institute, which is aligned with all three of our pillars: membership, professionalisation, and influence. This new apprenticeship provides another key pathway for individuals at level 4 who are interested in a career in security or who want to formally credit what they are already doing.’
The public consultation, which opened on 14 October 2024, allowed members and stakeholders to give feedback on the apprenticeship before it was formally submitted to the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE)
The closing date was the 28 October 2024. We look forward to hearing the outcome of the consultation and supporting the apprenticeship moving forward.
