Open platform

Of course, while it would be lovely if every customer would buy everything from us, the reality is al-
ways a little bit more complicated!

If you want to mix and match your system, Vicon is an open platform.

All our cameras are compliant with ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) standards, so if you
already have another VMS, or have cameras installed, our products are compatible and will play nice
with others (provided the products you already have are also ONVIF-compliant, of course!)

The value of the flexibility offered by an open platform cannot be overstated. As well as allowing you
to build the system to the exact specifications you need, and shop across manufacturers to get the
best price, it also makes it easier to expand your system as time goes on.

When it comes to expanding, features like the automatic discovery and configuration of new devices
by our VMS, Valerus, come in especially handy, saving you time and money by streamlining the
installation at every step.

Centralised solutions

Valerus is our centralised solution for video management. In addition to monitoring cameras, it allows
you to monitor video, access control, ANPR, and server status from one interface. This simplifies
the process for operators and provides a comprehensive view of the system on a single screen. By
centralising platforms, you can set rules based on various factors such as doors, locks, line crosses,
loitering, crowds, and number plate recognition. This frees the end-user to respond to issues before
they escalate. The system also offers cybersecurity benefits, including strong password enforcement
and encrypted protocols. Additionally, there is a mobile app available for quick facility scans and
streaming video into Valerus.
