against rural crime. Government is pledging to invest in the policing of
rural areas and increasing the severity of penalties for such crimes.
Enfortis Director, Stuart Crighton gave a fascinating and hard hitting
presentation on the way security technology deployed in covert hides
can be used to capture environmental crimes and help the Local
Authorities prosecute fly-tippers. Enfortis recorded CCTV footage of
brazen dumping of industrial and construction waste made everyone
feel anger towards the perpetrators. It’s an emotive subject for anyone
who values our countryside and areas of outstanding natural beauty.
The day was a huge success and a brilliant example of what can be
achieved when complimentary organisations join forces to deliver
something bigger than could be possible in isolation. We are grateful to
Stuart Hand, Chief Executive of the National Rural Crime Network for his
friendship and partnership on this project.
As if one conference in a week was not enough, Optimal Risk Group
also hosted the first conference of the Private Client Security Forum
(PCSF).
On Thursday 29th June, we challenged the perceptions of Security.
Optimal Risk Group conceived and created the PCSF with the aim of providing free security advice and updates
to the community that supports all aspects of an Ultra High Networth (UHNW) family group. To do this we
needed to pull together the specialist channel partners we use on a routine basis. The dream team was created
covering off a multitude of security specialist areas. Unsurprisingly, four of the seven companies in the Forum
are Corporate partners of the Security Institute.
• Selectamark – Forensic marking systems
• Gallagher – High grade security technology manufacturer
• Kensington Security Doors & Windows – Beautifully crafted for super prime residences.
• Salt Communications – Secure mobile and desktop Communications
• Egnyte – Secure cloud storage and data governance platform
• IC2 CCTV – Technical Security Installer and integrator
• Of course, Optimal Risk Group is the Security Risk management consultancy that ties these services together
for a wealthy client as required.
Pewterers Livery Hall in the City of London provided the right luxurious environment to host 70 guests from
Private client service providers such as Insurance, Family Offices, Property and Family Law, Property developers
and Estate agents specialising in Super Prime property. The networking was incredible for everyone, but most
of all, our PCSF team changed perceptions of security in this influential audience. The presentations were short
and pithy, but each told a story that shocked and amazed with serious but occasionally, humorous content.
The feedback demonstrated that most guests had little understanding of how sophisticated security threats
and mitigations could be. We wrapped up with a fascinating presentation from our friend and ally, Phillip
Grindell. His perspective on Stalking is always a conversation piece and kept the conversation lively right into the
networking drinks. What a day!
The Private Client Security Forum is a closed community on LinkedIn gathering new invited members at a
rapid rate. The conference was not cheap to organise or easy to co-ordinate, but it was well worth the effort.
I won’t lie, it helps having seven collaborative and forward thinking Security companies pooling resources and
expertise, it’s another example of how collaborations make a bigger impact. We have created a forum (a Tribe)
that will continue to influence beyond the security industry. I for one, am already looking forward to next year’s
event.
