CPD - It’s not all about you!
CPD - It’s not all about you!

One of the most rewarding aspects of professional
development can be what you do to help others on their
development journey. The Institute’s Continuing Professional
Development (CPD) scheme is unique in recognising a wide
variety of activity that you may do to help others, whether it is
on an individual one to one level, or for larger groups, or even
for the benefit of society generally.
Whilst Mum used to say “You’re never to old to learn” it is also
true that sometimes you can feel much more incentivised to
“give something back” as a way of scoring valuable CPD points.
Here are some ideas that you might not have considered,
across a range of different activities

research/writing = 1 point, plus 1 published article = 1 point.
In Groups with Others
Security Institute members come from all walks of security life, and often have very interesting
case studies to share. Could you deliver a presentation at one of our webinars? Are you already
scheduled to do this at events planned by other organisations? Score 1 hour research/writing = 1
point, plus 1 presentation delivered = 1 point.
There are a host of Special Interest Groups on the Institute’s Community Forum, and new
ones being established each month. Your ideas and contributions can really help
