             #OurSecurity Campaign:

             Sharing stories to promote change

One of the reoccurring observations by members of the Inclusive Security SIG was the lack of ‘role
models’ within the security space for career starters to see as examples of success. In response,
the SIG launched their successful #OurSecurity campaign, which has since garnered 10,000s of
impressions on social media, highlighting a wide breadth of different security roles and professionals
from a variety of backgrounds. Below and on the following pages, you can see some of the ISSIG
members that have participated in the campaign.

             Houdah Al-Hakim MSyI

‘I am the founder and CEO of Quick Click Security, an online
platform designed to promote opportunities in the security industry as
well as increase accessibility and access to resources, knowledge and
             networks.

Having started out in the legal industry I trained and qualified as a
solicitor before leaving to become more involved in the private security
sector. In 2013 (whilst still training to be a solicitor), I started and helped
manage a security firm focused in Door Supervision before moving on
to consult (mainly on areas such as recruitment, legal, sales & marketing,
procurement, operations and standards) for larger security firms in a
variety of sectors including corporate, retail, CP and events.

Having also held an SIA licence and worked on the frontline I not only acquired a variety of
perspectives but found an actual passion, and was determined to utilise my background to work with
others to raise standards and promote opportunities in the industry.

In 2017 I completed the Level 6 CSMP Diploma with ISMI to further my knowledge and understanding
of the security industry. At the same time I began formulating the idea and plan for Quick Click Security
and now I feel I am in a position to support others on their journey within the industry.

I have had a very positive experience whilst building a career in security and I got involved in the
Institute’s Inclusive Security SIG because I don’t think enough people really understand the amazing
opportunities and the supportive networks the security industry has to offer and I wanted to be part
of a community of likeminded people to think of ways to change that. I believe that to take the next
step as a sector and work towards professionalisaton we must diversify our workforce at every level.
We need new mindsets, fresh faces, creative ideas and disrupters. Only then will we start to see any
             sustainable change.
