Women in Security Awards
The Women in Security Awards was organised by Professional Security Magazine and was hosted
by the British Security Industry Association (BSIA). The event took place on Thursday 14th
September at Shakespeare’s Underglobe Theatre in London. The evening recognised and
honoured the accomplishments of women who have gone above and beyond to positively
contribute to the security industry throughout their careers. The event included a drinks reception

In attendance at this prestigious event from the Security Institute included: The Security Institute

Our Chair Julie Nel MSyI commented on the Women in Security Awards evening:
“A fabulous evening spent celebrating the amazing achievements of women across the security
industry. We are privileged to have Baroness Ruth Henig CBE DL as The Security Institute President
and it was wonderful to see her receive the Special Recognition Award for her distinguished service
to the security industry.
Baroness Henig CBE DL has been a role model for women in the industry for decades, supporting
women all through her journey. From appointing the first female Chief Constable to Chair of the SIA,
Baroness Ruth Henig CBE DL is a consummate professional and stateswoman for the whole of the
security community.
Congratulations to all the fantastic women who were finalists and winners! Thank you to all who
made this such a great evening - Liz Lloyd, Roy Cooper, Una Riley.
See you next year to all you amazing ladies. Keep doing what you are doing!”
