Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) /Civil Servant

Security, Board Director and Other Relevant Experience:
Mahbubul is a Chartered Security Professional (CSyP) and a highly
skilled Cyber Security expert with a detailed grounding in personnel,
procedural, physical, and technical security. Over a 13-year period, he
has led numerous teams on Security engagements in UK Government
Departments.

His passion and focus have been on building inclusive and diverse security teams that are able
adapt to the dynamic changes within security, whilst delivering on Cyber, Technical, Governance,
Risk and Compliance outcomes.

Mahbubul is a keen supporter of mentoring programmes within the security profession,
including helping with the development of the security professionals in the UK Civil Service.

Date of Joining the Institute: 2012

Previous Security Institute Involvement:
Mahbubul has been engaged as a Board Director at the Security Institute for the last 3 years,
attending board meetings and represented the Institute in external engagements.

In that time, he has represented the Security Institute on the UK Cyber Security Council
Formation Projectct, a mjaor project for the UK Cyber Professional development that was led
by the Cyber Security Alliance. In addition to this, Mahbubul has also sponsored the Cyber and
Convergence Special Interest Group.

He is also an active member of the Interview Accessors Panel for CSyPs.

Areas of Interest in the Institute:
Mahbubul is a keen supporter of mentoring programmes within the security profession,
including a converged approach to Cyber Security.

He also represents the Security Institute in the UK Cyber Security Council and its sub committees.

Personal Comment:
I have been on the Security Institute Board for the last 3 years and looking forward to working
with the Board in continuing to develop the Institute for the next 3 years.
