Security, Board Director and Other Relevant Experience:
Rowena is a senior security professional of 26 years with a Master’s
degree in Security and Intelligence, is CPP certified and a Fellow of
the Security Institute. Rowena served in the British Army for 12 years
(1995 – 2007) and has dedicated her corporate career to the Security profession.

Trustee of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity (Non-Executive Director), Veteran Ambassador for the Open
University’s Disabled Veterans Scholarship Fund. Masterclass tutor on Insider Threat.

Previous Industry Chair of CPNI Information Exchange – Securing IT against Insiders.

Previously: Board member on the Womens’ Security Society and a member of the Worshipful
Company of Security Professionals.

Date of Joining the Institute: 2011

Previous Security Institute Involvement:
Member of the Working Group to review the Security Institute Retired Membership Scheme in
2018.

Areas of Interest in the Institute:
Supporting the Institute to become chartered. Driving strategy to ensure that the Institute is
representative of all the security disciplines. Being an advocate for the Institute to become the
preeminent Security forum in the UK. Driving academic prowess.

Personal Comment:
My approach is forward-thinking and strategic. Having worked across all Security disciplines, at
all operational levels, I offer a wealth of experience to the Institute’s Board, complimented by my
experience as Trustee, understanding the responsibilities that a Directorship holds. If elected, I
would fully commit to the portfolio assigned.
