Her Royal Highness, the Princess

Royal attends Security Institute

Careers Fair

8th June 2023

On Thursday 8th June 2023 The Security Institute
launched their first Careers Fair at the Victory Services
Club Seymore Street London for Veterans and Serving
Service Personnel in support of The Institutes Armed
Forces Covenant endorsement. With the priority to
assist those seeking a career in the security industry, The
Institute was delighted to have their Royal Patron, Her
Royal Highness The Princess Royal in attendance.

Mr. Stuart Shilson, the Deputy Lieutenant of Greater
London, accompanied Her Royal Highness who was
greeted on arrival at the VSC by CEO and Secretary, Nigel
Beet CBE and later introduced to The Security Institute
Chair, Peter Lavery FSyI, and the Chief Executive, Angela
Vernon Lawson CSyP FSyI.

During the visit, Her Royal Highness spent time speaking
with exhibitors from across the NHS, government, the
private security sector, education, and training. Before
departure, Her Royal Highness spent time speaking to
attendees, the speakers who shared their journey into
the security sector and the charity Tough Enough to Care
who support important issues related to mental health
and wellbeing for service personnel.

There is no doubt the event provided attendees the
opportunity to speak with potential employers, to
network with many veterans, but the attendance of Her
Royal Highness proved to be the inspiration on the day
