Introducing the new Registrars for the CSyP
Mike Bluestone MA CSyP FSyI - Registrar
Mike is the newly appointed Registrar of the Register of Chartered
Security Professionals, and in his ‘day job’ is the Executive Director
of Corps Security, where he has worked for the past fourteen years.
He has Military experience and has worked in the corporate security
sector for over 33 years.
With an MA in Security Management from Loughborough University,
Mike is a Chartered Security Professional, a Fellow and former Chair,
and Emeritus Chair of the Security Institute. Mike has spent several
years as an Ambassador for the Register of Chartered Security
Professionals and was Chair of the Security Institute from 2008-2013
when in 2011 he oversaw the launch of the Register. Mike has been
a Member of the London Resilience Academic Partnership and Chair
of the Security Management Committee of the British Standards
Institution. Mike led the development of BSI Standard BS16000:2015
‘Security Management and Operational Guidelines’.
Mike is a Trustee and Vice-Chair of AJEX JMA Veterans charity, and
Chair and Trustee of a small Military charity, as well as President of
the Corps Veterans Association. He is also a Governor of Stanmore

Registrar
Mike Lees MSc CSyP FSyI FBCI FEPS – Deputy Registrar
Mike Lees is a former police officer and currently the Head of
Business Security at a busy acute Trust Hospital in South Yorkshire
where he has been in post for fifteen years. His current senior role
ensures he is well versed in navigating the challenges of public sector
security and resilience management.
Academically, Mike holds an MSc in Risk, Crisis and Disaster
Management from the University of Leicester, a PGCE from
Huddersfield University and NHS Security and Counter-Fraud
qualifications awarded by Portsmouth University. He is a Fellow of
The Security Institute, Business Continuity Institute and Emergency
Planning Society and is a Chartered Security Professional. As a docu-
ment, interview and portfolio assessor for the Register he also serves
on the Security Institute Membership Validation Board and Validation
Board Working Group. Mike was awarded the Institute’s Volunteer of
the Year Award in 2021 and is a committed member (Liveryman) of
the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals.
Mike Lees
Mike has previously served as Director of Membership for the UK Deputy Registrar
Emergency Planning Society (EPS) and Director of the National
Association of Healthcare Security (NAHS). He currently supports a
local RAF community memorial group and is an enthusiastic, if not
competent, beekeeper.
