Why Kickstart for Security?
Working in the world of security can open doors to a whole range of positions,
many young people without exposure to our sector are unaware of the wide
spectrum of roles that fall under the security umbrella. Through the Kickstart
scheme, we hope to open career opportunities for young people with our sector
to help build up their experience.
Many young people may think that security officer roles (door supervisors and
security guards) make up the world of security. But this is only a very small slice of
the security pie. There are many other fields of security that may appeal to them,
whether they have an interest in chemistry, biology, physics and architecture,
math and statistics, business studies, textiles and design, information technology
or engineering - security has opportunities that suit these skill sets.
How can you get involved?
If you are an employer looking to create 29 or less jobs placements for young
people then you can apply for funding as part of the Kickstart Scheme through the
Security Institute as a Kickstart Gateway. If this is of interest get in touch with us
today to sign up as one of our registered employers - email: kickstart@security-
institute.org
Employers that are able to offer 30 job placements, they can apply to the Kickstart
Scheme independently. You can find further details here: https://www.gov.uk/
