One of the many questions asked is ‘do I need to be a Limited Company or part of an organisation to achieve the Approved Training Provider
endorsement?’ The answer is no. If you, as an individual or sole trader, have an event, programme or short course which fits the criteria, then
you are more than welcome to apply. The process is the same for all applicants to maintain inclusiveness within the sector. The focus is on the
quality and the safety* of our members.

Members are assured that applicants for the ATP endorsement complete a comprehensive and diligent process to ensure instructors are
appropriately qualified and experienced, that training is relevant and current, and assessment for the ATP PC is fair. Insurance documents,
policies and procedures are also reviewed as part of that process. ATP applicants must also satisfy the Institute’s requirements for quality,
inclusiveness, equality and ethical practice as laid out in the SyI ATP Terms and Conditions before an applicant receives the SyI ATP
endorsement. Director Carl Dakin CSyP FSyI supports the SyI ATP programme by assessing the applications against strict guidelines to ensure
members have access to credible and authentic programmes delivered by knowledgeable and experienced instructors; recently overseeing
the successful ATP endorsement for Bold Communications Ltd and Pendry Risk Management & Security Training who are ready to support the
             development of our members.

Brian Kelly Managing Director Bold Communications Ltd commented:
“Remote monitoring is a rapidly developing sector touching nearly all aspects of technical security.
Consequently, there is a growing appetite among practitioners for increased knowledge and
understanding, whether they are operating a monitoring control room or availing themselves of a
monitoring service. The Security Institute’s Approved Training Provider scheme provides an excellent
opportunity to get that knowledge out there whilst also being able to claim CPD points for attending.”

Richard Pendry CEO/Senior Consultant at Pendry Risk Management & Security
Training shares his reasons behind choosing The Security Institutes ATP
                                 endorsement:
“As security professionals passionate about the delivery of training for the security industry, there was only one
organisation that we considered when it was time for me to have our courses recognised within the industry. The
choice was elementary: The Security Institute. Being part of the Security Institute, Approved Training Programme
is an accolade that we at Pendry Risk Management & Security Training have strived towards. It proves that our
courses have been scrutinised by fellow security professionals and have been found fit for purpose. We’re
delighted to be working with like-minded individuals who are as ardent as we at increasing the capacity within the
security industry. We have in development many courses that will be rolled out in 2021, so be sure to sign up to
                                 ensure the latest updates.”

Rick Mounfield CSyP FSyI, The Security Institutes CEO, also commented:
“The Institute recognises those working in the sector have a demanding job; therefore, the quality of the training provider and content must
undergo a due diligence process. This way, the SyI ATP scheme removes the guesswork for those seeking relevant and affordable training
opportunities. The ATP logo will be an endorsement of the quality, enhancing the decision-making process. In short, the Security Institute
has taken away the risk of wasting money. Moreover, with the significant academic expertise in the Institute, the end-user will have access to
upskilling opportunities which are time savvy and financially affordable. There is no doubt, Angela Vernon-Lawson, supported by Carl Dakin,
has created a scheme that many professionals will value well into the future.”
