Within the past year our
Special Interest Groups
(SIGs) have experienced
fantastic growth, allowing
members and non-
members that share an
interest in a specific field
of security to discuss and
share their views on the
latest developments,
and support each
other’s professional
development.
In the past year we
have expanded on the
number and variety of
different educational
events we run. These
events covered a range
topics relevant to
security professionals,
such as Mental Health
We continued our partnership with the Volunteer First Aid (see left),
Police Cadets (VPC), allowing over 300 young Cadets providing opportunities
to attend the security industry’s biggest UK exhibitions to continue professional
- including CTX, IFSEC, ISE & the Security Event. development.
The Security Institute has
launched a new partnership
with the EY Foundation, to
expand on the positive impact
that our ‘Next Generation in
Security’ has had. Through
this new partnership we will
be running a ‘Secure Futures’
programme in summer 2021,
an employability programme
designed to showcase the wide
range of career options available
within the security industry and
then help them hone the skills
they need to enter the industry.
The partnership has already
received support from across the
industry, allowing 25 16-18 year
olds to participate.
