The Security Institute has continued its successful
partnership with Perpetuity Arc Training, providing an
award-winning range of distance learning qualifications
Security Management Qualifications
comprising of the: BTEC Level 3 Certificate, BTEC Level
5 Diploma and IQ Level 7 Advanced-Diploma in Security
Management. These qualifications create a clear 226
professional security career pathway that assesses
individual experience and addresses the issue of
professional validation for security professionals and
their employers.
Qualifications
During the past year, 226 Learners have successfully
completed one of our courses and gained a qualification gained in 2019
in Security Management. This represents a steady
increase of 11.8% from 2018.

Our suite of courses are all delivered online via an
intuitive online learning platform, supported by expert
tutors and written by industry experts approaching
the courses from both an academic and practical
perspective.

A key consideration for most learners is the delivery
of the training, with the option that provides the most
flexibility whilst offering realistic and measurable future
career progression being increasingly chosen. Distance
learning is often the preferred learning option, as it
enables an individual or organisation is able to take
control of their own professional development.

In a continued effort to encourage education and
professional development to our membership, all
members of the Institute are entitled to a 10% discount
on our courses, or 10% if you book five or more of
your staff or colleagues who are not current Institute
members on at the same time. In addition, all learners
completing one of our qualifications can enjoy free
Student Membership with the Security Institute for
the duration of their studies. This allows students
to participate in the Institute’s community of other
security professionals, and gives them to access the full
range of resources helping support their professional
development.

Also, within the past year, we have become proud
supporters of the Defence Discount Service (DDS). The
Defence Discount Service is the only official Ministry
of Defence discount service for the UK’s Armed Forces
and Veterans. Through this scheme member of the
Armed Forces Community and Veterans can enjoy a 20%
discount on all three of our courses.
