Our Director for Cyber Convergence Mahbubul Islam
CSyP MSyI is overseeing the overall programme and
works streams, also representing the Security Institute
on the programme board and the Cyber Security
Alliance Management group. The Security Institute
has responsibility for Workstream 5: ‘Developing the
Profession’ and is on course to deliver the agreed
outcomes on time.

The purpose of our Workstream has been clearly set
out by the Institution of Engineering and Technology
(IET): Mahbubul Islam CSyP FSyI
‘The aim of Workstream 5. is to develop a clear, Director of Cyber Convergence Strategy
considered and evidenced roadmap for career
progression of the cyber security professional, and
should produce a clear approach to ensuring diversity
in the profession and means to engage and develop the
next generation.’

The Cyber and Convergence Special Interest Group (CCSIG) is providing volunteers to support the delivery of all 10
workstreams. This also includes newly elected Director of the Institute Andy Watkin-Child CSyP FSyI who is leading on
Thought Leadership and Deputy Chair of the Institute Peter Lavery FSyl who is leading on Royal Chartered Status.

Mahbubul will continue to regularly update the Cyber Convergence Special Interest Group (CCSIG) and the wider
membership, whilst also encouraging other cyber security professionals to participate in the formation of the council –
